The Origins of Fierce Grace
Toby Dorr’s story is one of profound transformation, resilience, and redemption. Once defined by a single headline-making moment, she has turned her life into a beacon of hope and empowerment for others.
In 2006, Toby made a decision that would alter her life forever. After helping an inmate escape from prison, she faced consequences that shattered everything she’d known. Stripped of her freedom, her family, and her identity, Toby hit rock bottom. But it was in that darkness that she discovered her inner light.
Prison became a crucible of self-discovery. Toby confronted the choices and circumstances that led her there, and through deep introspection, she found the strength to rebuild her life. She emerged from incarceration not as the person she had been but as someone transformed—empowered, self-aware, and fiercely determined to create a better future.
Out of this journey of transformation, the Fierce Grace Movement was born. Toby founded this movement with a singular mission: to create spaces so filled with love that there is no room for shame. Fierce Grace is more than a name; it’s a way of living—a call to courageously embrace one’s story, no matter how messy or complicated, and to use it as a springboard for growth and change.
Today, Toby uses her experiences to inspire and uplift others. Through workshops, speaking engagements, and resources, the Fierce Grace Movement empowers individuals to reclaim their worth, rewrite their narratives, and lead lives of authenticity and purpose.
